The Real Reason You’re Feeling Lonely

August 18, 2018 9:07 pm

I feel hopeless.

All Godly men are either taken or married already. Sigh!

I have a very small social circle and there is not a lot of guys in my church…so…

I had said all these things when I was single. Loneliness/singleness is a real struggle that many women experience – married or single. We all tend to fall into the big bubble of feeling lonely, hopeless, and not being enough. The devil tries to steal the joy away from us by feeding us lies. Lies that not only make us more miserable but also break our trust in God.

The real problem here is not due to not being in a relationship, but rather our mistrust in God. Mistrust leads us to step farther and farther away from God. We don’t trust He’s able to get us out of this situation. We don’t trust He has a plan and purpose for us at this very moment. We don’t trust His plan is good for us. This is getting real, isn’t it?

Let’s look at what God says about you and His plan for you.

1. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)

2. God is for you not against you. (Romans 8:31)

3. His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)

4. His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in your weakness.  (2 Corinthians 12:9)

My friend, I cannot emphasize enough how God loves you. His love is unexplainable and unthinkable but the good news is — it is available for us! God longs to have a relationship with you and He wants you — imperfect, messy and broken. But that’s okay. We are not called to be perfect but to follow Him wholeheartedly.

Whether you are single or married, we all struggle with loneliness. My prayer is that you will listen to what God says about YOU by reading His word. Know that He cares about you and He alone can fulfill the desire of your heart.

What if today, we believe God is powerful enough to destroy the feeling of being defeated and start walking in freedom?

What if today we embrace our relationship status (married or single) and the season of our life that God has put us in and let God truly lead us?

Let’s encourage each other in the comment section below!!
