Outsourcing can seem overwhelming. Perhaps you are still debating whether or not it is time to outsource for your business as you’ve always wanted to, but you continue to have second thoughts. I get it. Hiring the right person is a process that not only involves evaluating the qualities of your candidates but also determining […]
What a crazy season it’s been! Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? I knew 2019 would be a year of breakthroughs and changes, but it’s funny how I thought it’d be a long, slow process. Boy, was I wrong! After launching my new brand in March, I was fully booked for a […]
At the beginning of 2019, I shared why I chose the word ‘faithfulness’ to be my word of the year. As corny as it may sound, I want 2019 to be a year of God that is centred to His will. This has involved my dreamed of having a business that speaks God’s truth and holds values of His Kingdom. However, at the beginning of the year my vision still felt a little blurry and out of place, even though I had some idea for what I wanted my brand to look like. I then had the idea of hiring a designer to do a complete rebrand for my business, and that’s when Brianne of Design by Brianne came into the picture.
Every January, my church kicks off the new year with a week of prayer and fasting. This year, my husband and I decided to fast from entertainment (including music, books, TV, podcasts, etc.) and social media.
It was a pretty amazing week for us. Personally, it made me realize that my day-to-day life is full of distractions, worldly voices, and things that are not feeding my soul, but instead keeping me away from getting closer to God and being sensitive to His voice.
Last night I went out for dinner with a few of my girlfriends. We had such a wonderful time. The four of us have committed to bi-weekly Friday dinners for a little bit more than a year now. These nights are always full of delicious food, meaningful conversations, and prayers. I love that we gather as a group of close friends to talk and share our hearts. I felt particularly grateful after our dinner last night, and I couldn’t help but want to express my gratitude for these ladies.
I am a doer, and one of my superpowers is execution. As a matter of fact, that’s what I do for a living. I am a full-time administrative assistant for six partners in a busy accounting firm. I do a little bit of everything, from client onboarding to marketing to handling account receivable to dealing with the CRA on a daily basis.
As you may know, I have a desire to start a small business. In the past, I had no idea what it was going to look like. Everything seemed busy and confusing, and I really wanted to do it right. After spending lots of time praying and talking to my friends and family about it, I started to get the idea of building a faith-based business (I will explain what that means later).
Okay, I am going to be honest with you. I have a love-hate relationship with social media. On one hand, it is entertaining and interactive. It is also powerful — we can use it to easily connect with like-minded people from around the world. I love that it is a space for people to connect and share their passions.
